2. Employment and in-work risk of poverty in the EU - Chart 2

Employment and in-work risk of poverty seem to be negatively related to each other: the higher the former, the lower the latter. As regards Airmulp countries, three groups can be identified: Sweden and UK have a high employment rate and a low proportion of employed people at risk of poverty; at the other extreme, Spain, Italy and Poland have a lower employment rate and a higher proportion of employed people at risk of poverty; France is, again, in an intermediate position, maintaining a certain degree of equality, despite a relatively low employment rate.
